Post: Israeli Forces Intensify Operations in Qalandia Refugee Camp

Gaza: Israeli occupation forces early Wednesday raided Qalandia refugee camp, north of occupied Jerusalem, amid heavy military reinforcements deployed to the area. The Jerusalem Governorate reported that Israeli military vehicles stormed the camp carrying boxes, equipment, and maps as large numbers of Israeli soldiers were deployed across several neighborhoods and continued raids and searches.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, local sources revealed that Israeli forces raided the headquarters of the Popular Committee in the camp, forced a number of residents out of their homes, and compelled one family to evacuate its house. They also prevented the performance of dawn prayers in all mosques in the camp.

The sources added that Israeli military vehicles ran over a young man near the camp, while Israeli soldiers severely assaulted journalist Mohammad Samreen as he was covering the events. Israeli forces also detained young man Ghassan al-Khatib and detained several other youths during the ongoing raid, which was accompanied by the deployment of a large number of military vehicles and demolition machinery. Israeli soldiers continued to be stationed throughout the area.
