Ramallah: For the fourth consecutive day, Israeli occupation forces continued to intensify military measures across West Bank governorates, closing checkpoints and entrances to cities, towns, and villages, significantly hindering the movement of Palestinians.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, in the Ramallah governorate, Israeli troops sealed off the Ein Sinya checkpoint and the northern entrance to Al-Bireh to outbound traffic. Soldiers reportedly shut down all entrances leading to Silwad, Sinjil, Turmus Ayya, Aboud, and Taybeh, in addition to the Nabi Saleh and Rawabi gates.
In the Nablus governorate, the entrances to Yatma, Sarra, Awarta, Jamma'in, and Huwara were also sealed off. Similarly, in the Salfit governorate, a convoy of Israeli military vehicles closed the northern entrance to Salfit and the Deir Ballut gate. Forces also established a military checkpoint under the bridge in the Aqbat Hasna area, leading to the western countryside, causing severe traffic congestion by preventing vehicles from passing.
In the Bethlehem governorate, Israeli occupation forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance to the Nashash road, which serves as a connection between Bethlehem and Hebron and its southern countryside. Troops checked the IDs of Palestinian residents and searched their vehicles. Notably, the iron gates to Za'tara town in the east, and the villages of Marah Rabah and Al-Manshiyya in the south, remain closed.
Meanwhile, in the Hebron governorate, Israeli forces closed major routes including Ras al-Joura, Sa'ir, Nabi Yunis, Al-Fahs, Zif, Tarqumiya, and Al-Arroub. The widespread deployment of military checkpoints and iron gates, now exceeding 916 across the occupied Palestinian territories, including 243 installed after October 7, 2023, has further compounded the movement of residents.
