Tulkarm: Israeli occupation forces are maintaining their aggressive military operations in the city of Tulkarm and its camps, marking the 97th consecutive day of the offensive in Tulkarm and the 84th day in Nur Shams camp, amidst ongoing field escalation.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency – WAFA, the occupation forces have continued to deploy military reinforcements to the area, including vehicles and infantry units. These forces have been utilizing live ammunition and sound bombs while conducting raids and searches of homes and shops, often vandalizing their contents. Residents have been subjected to interrogation, abuse, and detentions during these operations.
The Tulkarm and Nur Shams refugee camps have been heavily surrounded by occupation forces, with live ammunition and sound bombs being used. The camps are under a tight siege, with entrances blocked by earth mounds. Raids and vandalism of homes have been reported as part of this siege.
On Friday, occupation forces pursued residents who attempted to enter the camps to evacuate belongings from homes threatened with demolition. Despite having prior permission to enter, live ammunition was fired at them. Dozens of residents, including women and children, were detained, along with several young men and two journalists.
This escalation follows the occupation forces’ announcement last Thursday evening about the demolition of 106 buildings and homes in the camps within 24 hours, affecting 58 buildings in Tulkarm camp and 48 homes in Nur Shams camp.
Over the course of this ongoing aggression, which has persisted for 97 days, more than 4,200 families, comprising over 25,000 citizens, have been forcibly displaced from Tulkarm and Nur Shams camps. The occupation forces have completely destroyed 396 homes and partially destroyed 2,573 others, while blocking entrances and alleys with earth mounds.
Additionally, occupation forces have seized residential buildings on Nablus Street and the adjacent northern neighborhood, converting them into military barracks after evacuating the residents. Military vehicles and bulldozers have been stationed in the vicinity.
The ongoing Israeli aggression in Tulkarm and its camps has resulted in the deaths of 13 Palestinian citizens, including a child and two women, one of whom was eight months pregnant. Dozens have been injured or detained during this period.
