Jenin: Israeli occupation forces have maintained a large-scale military operation in Jenin city and its refugee camp for the seventh consecutive day, resulting in approximately 16 Palestinian casualties and numerous injuries. On Sunday evening, Israeli bulldozers demolished the Cinema Roundabout and surrounding areas in the city center, further escalating tensions.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, local sources reported that commercial stalls near the roundabout were destroyed by occupation bulldozers, which also damaged sections of the street amid ongoing confrontations. In a separate incident, a 26-year-old Palestinian, Abdul Jawad Al-Ghoul, succumbed to injuries sustained from Israeli gunfire.
The Israeli forces have systematically destroyed homes in the Jenin refugee camp, targeting neighborhoods including Al-Damaj, Al-Bishr, and Abdullah Azzam. Among the demolished structures were two homes in the camp, one belonging to the Tawalba family. Military reinforcements continue to arrive in Jenin, with vehicles stationed outside Jenin Governmental Hospital.
Dr. Wissam Abu Bakr, Director of Jenin Governmental Hospital, stated that the destruction of main streets and the presence of military vehicles are severely impacting medical operations. He noted that barriers erected by the occupation forces at the hospital's entrance were eventually cleared to facilitate access, but challenges remain.
Jenin Governor Kamal Abu al-Rab confirmed the destruction of approximately 20 houses inside the camp, with the occupation forces attempting to partition the area by demolishing streets and burning residences. The military aggression, unprecedented in scale, began the previous Tuesday evening.
