Israeli Forces Initiate Demolition Operations Near Jalazone Refugee Camp

Ramallah: Israeli bulldozers commenced demolition operations near the Jalazone refugee camp, located north of Ramallah, on Wednesday. The operations were initiated by Israeli forces who stormed the agricultural suburb near the camp, escorted by bulldozers, to carry out the demolition activities.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the demolition operations come after a series of similar actions last July, where Israeli authorities conducted 75 demolitions affecting 122 structures. These demolitions included 60 inhabited homes, 11 uninhabited structures, 22 agricultural facilities, and 26 livelihood facilities. In addition to the demolitions, 33 demolition notices were issued to Palestinian structures.

The current operations highlight ongoing tensions in the region, with the demolition of structures impacting local communities. The actions have drawn attention to the broader issue of demolitions in the area, raising concerns about the displacement of residents and the destruction of infrastructure crucial to their livelihoods.
