Post: Israeli Forces Increase Restrictions at Northern Jordan Valley Checkpoints

Tayasir:Israeli forces have imposed increased military restrictions at the Tayasir and Ein Shibli checkpoints in the northern Jordan Valley, causing significant disruptions.

According to Palestine news & Information Agency – WAFA – English, local sources reported that the movement of Palestinian vehicles has been obstructed at both checkpoints, especially for those traveling towards the Jordan Valley. This has led to severe traffic congestion and travel disruptions.

The Tayasir and Ein Shibli checkpoints serve as separation points between the West Bank governorates and the Palestinian Jordan Valley. Israeli forces have been closing these checkpoints to Palestinian traffic for several hours daily, further limiting the movement of residents in the area.

The Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission has documented a total of 942 checkpoints and obstacles across the West Bank. This includes 824 permanent checkpoints and closure points, along with 118 linear obstacles. According to United Nations data, the total length of these barriers is approximately 107.7 kilometers.
