Ramallah: Israeli occupation forces on Tuesday took control of a Palestinian's house at the northern entrance of Birzeit, north of the occupied West Bank city of Ramallah, according to security sources. The forces broke into the house, located on the road connecting Birzeit to the nearby town of Atara, and turned it into a military observation and firing position.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the occupation forces also stormed al-Mughayyir village and Silwan town, located northeast and east of Ramallah, respectively. In these areas, they have already occupied two houses and converted them into military outposts.
The occupation forces conduct frequent raids on Palestinian houses across the West Bank, often on a near-daily basis, under the pretext of searching for 'wanted' Palestinians. These actions often lead to clashes with local residents.
These raids are executed without the requirement of a search warrant, allowing the military to act at their discretion due to their extensive arbitrary powers. Under Israeli military law, army commanders possess complete executive, legislative, and judicial control over the 3 million Palestinians residing in the West Bank, leaving the local population without any influence over how this authority is implemented.
