Israeli Forces Escalate Military Operations in Khan Younis

Khan younis: Israeli occupation forces on Monday evening blew up residential buildings in the southern part of Khan Younis city in the southern Gaza Strip. Meanwhile, Israeli warplanes launched an airstrike east of the al-Maghazi refugee camp, at a time when the occupying forces opened fire in the northwest area of the Nuseirat refugee camp.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency – WAFA, Israel unilaterally ended the Gaza ceasefire agreement and resumed its aggression on the Strip on Tuesday, March 18, carrying out a wave of airstrikes across the Strip. The strikes resulted in the deaths of at least 13,568 people, with 57,638 others wounded, as reported by medical sources.

In the last 24 hours alone, 21 bodies of slain Palestinians and 96 casualties were admitted to Gaza hospitals. Since October 2023, Israel’s military operations in the Strip have claimed the lives of 67,160 Palestinians, predominantly women and children, and injured 169,679 others.

Furthermore, at least 10,000 people are unaccounted for, presumed dead under the debris of their homes throughout the Strip. The ongoing conflict has led to the displacement of nearly two million people from across the Gaza Strip, with most seeking refuge in the crowded southern city of Rafah near the Egyptian border, marking the largest mass exodus since the 1948 Nakba.
