Jenin: The Israeli occupation forces continue their aggression on the city of Jenin and its camp for the 59th consecutive day, escalating the forced displacement of citizens after forcing them to leave their homes at gunpoint.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency – WAFA, the occupation forces have issued demolition notices for approximately 66 homes in the neighborhoods of Al-Hawashin, Al-Aloub, Azzam Mosque, Jourat Al-Dhahab, and Harat Al-Samran. The pretext given for these demolitions is the widening of streets and paving of new roads in the camp to facilitate the entry of military vehicles.
In recent developments, the occupation forces burned a number of homes near the Al-Saadi Diwan inside the camp. They also continue to obstruct the road leading to Jenin Governmental Hospital from the entrance to Jenin camp using earth mounds. These aggressive tactics have led to the detention of approximately 227 citizens from the Jenin Governorate, with dozens more undergoing field investigations.
The Jenin Municipality reports that the occupation forces have bulldozed every street in Jenin camp and around 80% of the streets in Jenin city. This has resulted in the displacement of residents from 3,200 homes within the camp. The ongoing conflict has severely impacted Jenin’s economy, causing a significant decline and increasing poverty rates among its residents.
The aggression has left a tragic toll, with 34 martyrs, numerous injuries, and many citizens detained.
