Israeli Forces Erect Barbed Wire Fence Separating Ramallah-Area Towns from Main Road

Ramallah: Israeli forces have initiated the construction of a barbed wire fence to separate the towns of Sinjil and Turmus Ayya, located north of Ramallah, from the main road that connects Nablus and Ramallah. The move marks a significant development in the region, as the fence aims to reroute access along this crucial route.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the construction involves the installation of 4-meter-long iron poles on the lands of Sinjil. The planned barbed wire fence is expected to extend approximately two kilometers along the main road, known as "Road 60." This development follows months of bulldozing Palestinian lands in the area.

In August, the Israeli occupation issued a "military order" to seize additional lands to facilitate the rerouting of the planned fence. The decision affects land from the towns of Turmus Ayya and Sinjil. Earlier, in February, a notification was issued for the seizure of 29 dunams of land from these towns to build the fence. This construction is set to prevent citizens from accessing the main road, thereby restricting their access to lands located behind the fence.
