Israeli Forces Detain Two Palestinians in Southern Hebron

Hebron: Israeli occupation forces on Thursday detained two Palestinians from Masafer Yatta, south of the occupied West Bank city of Hebron, according to local sources. They reported that the occupying forces entered the Harbi an-Nabi community and apprehended two individuals who were defending the community against a colonist attack.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, earlier, Israeli colonists attempted to graze their cattle on the community's farmland, leading to the confrontation. Masafer Yatta comprises 19 hamlets, with animal husbandry being the primary livelihood for its inhabitants.

The area, located in Area C of the West Bank, is under full Israeli administrative and military control. It has faced repeated violations from settlers and soldiers, with actions often targeting livestock, the community's main source of living. Since the 1980s, it has been designated as a closed Israeli military zone for training purposes, known as Firing Zone 918.
