Israeli Forces Detain Returning Families in Jenin Refugee Camp

Jenin: Israeli occupation forces detained several residents of Jenin camp as they attempted to return to their homes, local sources reported. The incident occurred on Wednesday evening, specifically affecting families trying to reach their residences in the al-Ghabz area of the camp and surrounding buildings. According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, earlier in the day, soldiers evacuated residents from several buildings, including the Sama complex and homes in Tal'at al-Ghabz, converting them into military outposts. Subsequently, the soldiers redeployed after residents attempted to return and inspect their homes. Residents documented the situation through photos and videos, revealing extensive damage to homes and personal property. This incident is part of an ongoing series of actions by the occupation forces in Jenin and its camp since January 21, which has resulted in the deaths of nearly 44 Palestinians, along with numerous injuries and detentions. Jenin Municipality statistics indicat e that, as of June, approximately 600 homes in the camp have been completely destroyed by the army. Current operations are targeting an additional 95 homes for demolition.
