Jerusalem: Israeli forces on Sunday detained a Palestinian man near the Damascus Gate area of occupied Jerusalem.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, local sources reported that Israeli police detained the 43-year-old while he was in the vicinity of Damascus Gate and transferred him to an interrogation center. The sources further noted the heavy presence of Israeli forces around Damascus Gate and throughout the alleys of Jerusalem's Old City, as part of heightened security measures targeting Palestinian residents.
Damascus Gate, a main entrance to the Old City of Jerusalem, has frequently witnessed Israeli military and police deployments.
