Jericho: Israeli occupation forces Wednesday evening detained four Palestinians from al-Auja town, north of Jericho in the Jordan Valley, according to the Palestine Prisoner's Society (PPS). PPS Officer Eid Barahma reported that the forces entered the town and arrested four individuals, including a woman.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, local sources indicated that the occupation troops conducted a raid in Nabi Saleh village, northwest of Ramallah. During the operation, confrontations ensued, and Israeli troops fired live gunfire and tear gas canisters at the villagers, although there were no reported casualties.
Meanwhile, security forces confirmed two separate raids occurred in the villages of Qibya and Deir Abu Mashaal, located to the west and northwest of Ramallah, respectively. There was no immediate information on any injuries or detentions as a result of these operations.
The occupation forces frequently carry out raids on Palestinian homes across the West Bank, citing the search for 'wanted' Palestinians. These operations often lead to clashes with local residents. The raids are conducted without search warrants, reflecting the military's broad powers.
Under Israeli military law, army commanders possess full executive, legislative, and judicial authority over the 3 million Palestinians living in the West Bank. Palestinians do not have any influence over how this authority is applied.
