Israeli Forces Detain 60 Palestinians from West Bank Amid Escalating Tensions

Ramallah: Israeli occupation forces have detained at least 60 individuals from the West Bank, including a woman, children, and former prisoners, in a widespread campaign conducted from yesterday evening until Wednesday morning.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the Commission of Prisoners' Affairs and the Palestinian Prisoner's Society (PPS) reported that these detentions and field investigations took place across various West Bank governorates. The military operations involved converting homes into makeshift military barracks and field investigation centers, as raids continued across several towns.

The frequency of these arrests and field investigations has been increasing at a rapid pace. Since the start of the week, the number of detentions has reached at least 160, although some detainees have subsequently been released.

The occupation has implemented a consistent policy of detaining individuals in the West Bank, along with other actions such as field executions. One such tragic incident involved the death of Moataz Al-Hajjleh from Al-Walaja/Bethlehem, who was shot and killed by occupation forces during his detention.

The ongoing detention campaigns and associated field investigations are considered by many as part of a broader strategy to suppress resistance. These operations remain a systematic approach by the occupation to maintain control and diminish opposition efforts in the region.
