Post: Israeli Forces Detain 40 Palestinians During West Bank Raids

Jerusalem: Israeli forces detained more than 40 Palestinians during large-scale operations across the occupied West Bank, including four women and a child.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the Palestinian Prisoners Society (PPS) reported that the number of detentions in the West Bank, including Jerusalem, has risen to approximately 22,000 since the beginning of the Israeli genocide. This figure includes those who remain in detention and those who have been released, marking a significant increase in the number of arrests over the past two and a half years. It excludes the thousands of arrests in the Gaza Strip and the campaigns in territories occupied in 1948.

The PPS highlighted that these arrests are accompanied by severe violations, including beatings, acts of terror against detainees and families, home destruction, vehicle and money confiscation, infrastructure damage, demolition of prisoners' family homes, use of family members as hostages, detainees as human shields, and extrajudicial killings.

The statement also noted that thousands of Palestinians have faced extensive field investigations since the genocide began, with occupation soldiers committing serious crimes, including torture, in interrogation and detention centers.

The PPS emphasized that the policy of daily arrests is a key colonial tool used by the Israeli system to target Palestinians and suppress any form of uprising or resistance. This policy affects various segments of Palestinian society and continues to escalate despite a ceasefire agreement, which has not halted the genocide and aggression against Palestinian regions.
