Israeli Forces Demolish Palestinian-Owned Home North of Jerusalem

Beit hanina: Israeli occupation bulldozers Tuesday demolished a Palestinian-owned house in the town of Beit Hanina, north of Jerusalem city. The Jerusalem Governorate reported that Israeli machinery demolished the home of a Jerusalemite resident, rendering his family homeless. It added that the occupation forces also forced a Jerusalemite family in Silwan, south of Al-Aqsa Mosque, to self-demolish their own home.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission revealed that occupation authorities executed 23 demolition operations in the Jerusalem Governorate during May. Palestinians in Jerusalem often build without permits due to discriminatory practices by the Israeli municipality, which either refuses to issue permits or imposes unaffordable conditions on them.

Simultaneously, thousands of housing units for colonists are constructed on appropriated Palestinian lands in the city and are made easily accessible to these settlers.
