Jerusalem: Israeli occupation forces on Tuesday demolished a Palestinian house in the town of Silwan in the occupied city of Jerusalem. Local sources reported that the occupation forces, accompanied by a bulldozer, raided the al-Bustan neighborhood in Silwan, south of al-Aqsa Mosque, and began demolishing a one-story house belonging to the Ayed family, which houses six civilians. The occupation sent reinforcements from the army and police to the town and imposed closures in conjunction with the demolition process. According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the Jerusalem governorate stated that this house is the seventh that the occupation forces have demolished in the Al-Bustan neighborhood in Silwan since October 7, 2023. Furthermore, about 120 other houses are threatened with demolition, which will lead to the forced displacement of 1,500 Jerusalemites in Silwan. Last September, the occupation municipality crews in Jerusalem notified the demolition of 37 houses and commercial facilities in the neighborhoods of the town of Silwan.
