Israeli Forces Demolish Homes and Raze Land Near Jerusalem

Jerusalem: Israeli occupation forces on Monday demolished two dwellings and razed cultivated land near al-Eizariya town, east of the West Bank city of East Jerusalem, local sources reported. The forces, accompanied by officers of the so-called 'Civil Administration,' escorted bulldozers into the al-Mashtal area, where they dismantled two tin-sheet shacks belonging to two brothers from the Abu Ghalyeh family, displacing their families.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the military bulldozers also razed a tract of cultivated land and destroyed over 50 water storage tanks, affecting Palestinian families in the area. These actions have denied the local population their access to water, exacerbating existing shortages and infrastructure challenges.

Al-Mashtal, located on the outskirts of Jerusalem, is frequently targeted by Israeli forces. This is part of wider policies aimed at displacing Palestinians and facilitating colonial expansion. The 'Civil Administration,' which oversees the military occupation of the West Bank, imposes strict controls over Palestinian communities, affecting their ability to reside, travel, and develop their land.

The administration's decisions impact various aspects of daily life for Palestinians, from residential permits to land ownership disputes. These measures contribute to the broader Israeli strategy of consolidating control over the territory.
