Ramallah: Israeli occupation forces on Monday took over a Palestinian's house in al-Mughayyir village, northeast of the occupied West Bank city of Ramallah, and converted it into a military outpost, according to local sources. The forces broke into the family house of Nimr Abu Alya, imprisoning him inside and using his mobile phone to contact his parents, notifying them that their home had been transformed into a military observation and firing position.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, earlier in the day, the occupation forces stormed three other houses in the village, detained the occupants, and utilized the structures as sniping posts. Such actions are part of frequent raids conducted by the Israeli forces across the West Bank, allegedly in search of 'wanted' Palestinians, often resulting in clashes with local residents.
These operations are carried out without requiring a search warrant, in line with the military's extensive arbitrary powers. Under Israeli military law, army commanders hold full executive, legislative, and judicial authority over approximately 3 million Palestinians residing in the West Bank, with Palestinians having no influence over how this power is exercised.
