Jenin: For the tenth consecutive day, Israeli occupation forces continue their military campaign on the city of Jenin and its refugee camp, resulting in the deaths of 17 Palestinians and injuries to dozens more. The assault has led to extensive destruction of infrastructure in the area.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the mayor of Jenin, Muhammad Jarar, reported that the occupation forces have demolished numerous homes in the Jenin refugee camp and nearby neighborhoods. The ongoing aggression has also caused a complete power outage in the camp and a significant water shortage, affecting approximately 35% of the city's and camp's neighborhoods. This shortage is due to damage to the Sa'ada well, the main water source for the area.
Jarar also noted that the occupation forces have deliberately destroyed local properties and shops, leading to dwindling food supplies in several neighborhoods. The forces maintain a complete siege on Jenin camp and parts of the city, particularly around the camp.
Incidents of violence were also reported, including the case of a citizen, Yaish Rabaya, who was injured after being beaten by the occupation forces during a raid in the town of Meithalun. Additionally, his son, Muhammad Rabaya, was detained after a house raid. The village of Bir al-Basha also witnessed arrests, as Israeli forces surrounded and entered the home of Ihab Ghawadra, detaining him along with two other young men.
The withdrawal of some occupation vehicles from Jenin camp and its surroundings has revealed massive destruction to homes, property, and infrastructure in neighborhoods such as Al-Aloub, Al-Hadaf, and Al-Damj. The neighborhood of Jourat Al-Dhahab was bulldozed, and a street was opened in the area.
The occupation forces have been obstructing ambulance access to Jenin Governmental Hospital, preventing a sick woman from reaching medical care and stopping Red Crescent crews from assisting her, resulting in her losing consciousness. Military reinforcements continue to arrive from the Jalameh checkpoint, and new homes in the camp's Al-Bashar neighborhood have been destroyed.
Muhammad Al-Ahmad, Director of the Palestinian Post, stated that despite the closures in Jenin, postal services, including stamps for passports, IDs, travel permits, and other services, continue to be provided in the offices of Araba, Qabatiya, and Barta'a, as well as throughout the governorate.
