Israeli Forces Continue Demolition and Burning of Homes in Jenin Camp

Jenin: Israeli occupation forces persisted on Sunday in their operations to destroy, demolish, and set fire to homes within the Jenin refugee camp, located in the northern occupied West Bank. WAFA correspondent reported that significant destruction has occurred in the Al-Damaj and Al-Bashar neighborhoods, with ongoing demolitions in the Abdullah Azzam neighborhood and Talat al-Ghabz area. The correspondent noted that thick smoke billowed from the numerous homes set ablaze, amidst continuous demolitions.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the Israeli military has deployed additional reinforcements, including bulldozers, to Jenin city. Military vehicles have been stationed in front of the Jenin Governmental Hospital, while warplanes and drones patrol the skies above the city and the camp. Jenin Governor, Kamel Abu al-Rub, reported that the occupation forces have, to date, detonated 20 homes in the camp and are attempting to divide the camp into four sections by destroying streets and demolishing and burning residences.

The governor raised concerns about the potential presence of casualties within the camp, as rescue teams face difficulties accessing the area. Journalists have also been prohibited from entering the camp. He confirmed the arrival of six aid trucks from the Ministries of Social Development and Local Government, intended for distribution to families in Jenin.
