Tubas: Israeli occupation forces have continued bulldozing land in Khirbet Ibziq, north of Tubas, for the second consecutive week as part of ongoing efforts to construct a military road in the area.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, Abdel-Majid Khudairat, head of the Khirbet Ibziq village council, stated that Israeli bulldozers have been concentrating their operations on the western outskirts of the village, near the neighboring village of Raba. He explained that Israeli authorities have declared the targeted area a 'closed military zone,' preventing local residents from accessing their land.
Khudairat cautioned that the road project is part of a broader Israeli initiative aimed at asserting control over extensive agricultural and grazing lands, which are crucial for the local community's livelihood. He also pointed out the significant environmental and humanitarian impacts of these activities.
Khirbet Ibziq, situated in the northern Jordan Valley, has long faced ongoing Israeli violations, including repeated demolitions of homes and structures and persistent pressure on farmers and herders, as part of a systematic policy of forced displacement.
