Israeli Forces Conduct Raids and Detain Multiple Palestinians Across West Bank

Nablus: Israeli occupation forces on Wednesday evening assaulted and detained a Palestinian from Huwara town, south of the occupied West Bank city of Nablus, according to local sources. They reported that a convoy of Israeli army vehicles stormed southern Huwara, where soldiers severely beat and re-arrested a former prisoner. During the raid, the soldiers ransacked several houses, turning them upside down.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, in the predawn and morning hours, the occupation forces conducted multiple raids across the occupied West Bank, leading to the detention of 27 Palestinians. In one instance, two individuals were detained while herding sheep south of As-Samu' town, Hebron. In Masafer Yatta, another individual was detained after being chased by Israeli colonists.

Additional detentions occurred in the Hebron governorate, where four individuals were rounded up, including two from Hebron, one from Ash-Shuyukh town, and another from Adh-Dhahiriyah town. In Jerusalem, soldiers at the Shufat military checkpoint detained Nawal Hijazi, a journalist, while a raid in Issawiya town resulted in the detention of two young men.

In Jericho, a raid in the Aqbat Jabr refugee camp led to the re-arrest of a former prisoner. In Ramallah, a convoy stormed Aboud village, ransacked houses, and detained four villagers, including three minors. The forces also entered Birzeit town to re-arrest a former prisoner.

Nablus city and the Balata refugee camp saw detentions of six people, while in Tulkarm, soldiers ransacked homes in Kafr al-Lubbad and detained two individuals. In Tubas, several houses were broken into, and two young men were detained, with an additional detention occurring in the nearby town of 'Aqqaba.

The occupation forces conduct these raids under sweeping and arbitrary powers, often without search warrants, sparking clashes with residents. Under Israeli military law, commanders wield full authority over 3 million Palestinians in the West Bank, who have no say in these actions.

According to Addameer, the Palestinian Prisoner Support and Human Rights Association, there are currently 9,300 Palestinian political prisoners in Israeli detention, including 350 children and 56 women. This figure includes approximately 3,358 Palestinians held under 'administrative detention', allowing detention without charge or trial based on undisclosed evidence.
