Bethlehem: Israeli occupation forces on Thursday began demolishing an inhabited house in the town of Tuqu', located southeast of Bethlehem. The demolition operation has raised concerns among local residents and officials.
According to Palestine news and Information Agency, Taysir Abu Mufleh, the head of the Tuqu' Municipal Council, reported that Israeli forces initiated the demolition process of a two-story house situated in the Khirbet al-Deir area. Each floor of the house spans 200 square meters and is owned by local resident Ali Mahmoud Suleiman. The demolition is being carried out under the pretext of lacking the necessary building permit.
Abu Mufleh further stated that the Israeli forces have completely sealed off the area, restricting the movement of residents and preventing them from accessing the site of the demolition. The actions taken by the Israeli forces have sparked tension within the community as they navigate the complexities of ongoing territorial and housing disputes in the region.
