Israeli Forces Commence Construction of New Colonial Road South of Hebron

Hebron: Israeli occupation forces on Thursday began constructing a new colonial road on privately owned Palestinian land in the town of Al-Dhahiriya, south of Hebron, according to local sources. Witnesses reported that the forces stormed the Al-Deir area on the outskirts of Al-Dhahiriya, sealing it off and seizing a house belonging to Palestinian citizen Naseem Abu Sharkh, which was then converted into a military post.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, residents were prohibited from accessing the area as bulldozers began carving a colonial road through their lands, just meters away from nearby homes. The area has recently experienced repeated incursions by groups of colonists.

The sources further indicated that the road construction project is intended to facilitate colonist incursions into the area and to provide infrastructure that would enable the seizure of Palestinian land for colonial expansion purposes.
