Post: Israeli Forces Commence Bulldozing for New Settlement Near Hebron

Hebron: Israeli forces on Wednesday initiated excavation and bulldozing operations on Palestinian-owned lands in the Mount Tarousa area, located west of Dura town in the Hebron Governorate. This activity marks the beginning of preparations for a new colonial settlement.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the occupation forces, accompanied by a group of colonists, started digging and bulldozing on the lands owned by citizens in the area. In recent hours, occupation trucks have transported caravans, water tanks, and other equipment to the site as part of the settlement establishment efforts.

This development follows a series of incursions that began on Monday. Armed colonists, under the protection of occupation forces, entered the area and set up a tent and a large sign announcing the establishment of a new settlement named 'Doron.'

On Tuesday, Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, along with several ministers and colonist leaders, visited the area to participate in a ceremony marking the laying of the foundation stone for the new settlement, which is planned on Palestinian lands.

'Doron' is one of the 19 new colonial settlements approved by the occupation government in the West Bank last year. These settlements are part of a broader plan aimed at expanding settlement activity and consolidating control over more Palestinian land.

During his visit, Smotrich also announced new measures facilitating the seizure and control of land in the Hebron Governorate.
