Post: Israeli Forces Close Hebron’s Ibrahimi Mosque Until Further Notice Amid Regional Tensions

Hebron: Israeli occupation authorities closed the Ibrahimi Mosque in the occupied West Bank city of Hebron on Saturday until further notice. The closure affects all the main gates of the mosque, barring the entry of all Waqf (Islamic endowment) staff.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the mosque's director and head custodian, Mu'taz Abu Sneineh, reported that the closure is part of the Israeli authorities' response to a declared state of emergency due to ongoing developments in the region. The decision has led to heightened military presence in the area.

The occupation forces have transformed the neighborhoods of the Old City, the area surrounding the Ibrahimi Mosque, and adjacent streets into military zones. This transformation has resulted in an increased deployment of soldiers across major access points, impacting the daily lives of residents and visitors in the area.
