Ramin: Israeli occupation forces attacked a group of journalists and international activists on Friday while they were covering an event supporting farmers near the village of Ramin, east of Tulkarm, according to local sources.
According to Palestine news and Information Agency - WAFA, journalist Diana Khweiled reported that an armed colonist in an all-terrain vehicle approached the site as they arrived. The colonist then contacted the Israeli army via phone, leading to the swift arrival of soldiers who detained the group, checked their passports and IDs, and conducted field interrogations.
Khweiled further mentioned that a farmer, along with journalists Enas Abu Jabal-who was later released-and Hamza Hamdan, were detained. Hamdan was handcuffed and taken away by Israeli forces, later suffering severe beatings before being left near the town of Sebastia. He was subsequently transferred to Rafidia Hospital in Nablus with moderate injuries.
The area experiences frequent attacks by colonists, especially during the olive harvest season. Just a day prior, colonists reportedly attacked farmers, forcing them off their lands and stealing olive produce and firewood.
