Jerusalem: Israeli occupation forces bulldozed Palestinian-owned land in the al-Bustan neighborhood of Silwan, south of the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound, on Monday. The operation involved significant clearing activities in the area.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the Jerusalem Governorate reported that bulldozers belonging to the Israeli municipality of Jerusalem razed land owned by Palestinians and removed rubble from homes that were demolished weeks earlier in the same neighborhood.
The Israeli authorities have been known to force Palestinians in occupied East Jerusalem to demolish their own homes, citing the absence of building permits as the reason. Palestinians who do not comply face demolition carried out by Israeli bulldozers, in addition to incurring heavy fines and the costs associated with the forced demolition.
