Post: Israeli Forces Block Roads With Earth Barriers in Tuqu’

Tuqu': Israeli occupation forces on Sunday closed several roads in the town of Tuqu', south of Bethlehem, using earth barriers. Palestinian security sources told WAFA that the forces sealed central access points in the town with dirt mounds, as well as the entrances of the nearby village of Khirbet al-Deir, restricting residents' movement and making access to Bethlehem city center more difficult.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the blockades have created significant disruptions for local residents, who now face challenges in their daily commute and access to essential services. The move has sparked concerns among the town's inhabitants, as it impedes their ability to travel freely to and from Bethlehem, an important hub for commerce and daily activities.

The security sources highlighted that the road closures are likely to exacerbate tensions in the region, as restricted movement affects not only residents' daily lives but also the local economy. The barriers have been a point of contention, and local leaders have called for their removal to restore normalcy and ease the difficulties faced by the affected communities.
