Tubas: Israeli occupation forces have halted the movement of dozens of teachers attempting to reach their schools in the Palestinian Jordan Valley.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, Azmi Balawneh, the Director of Education in Tubas, revealed that the Israeli forces are currently obstructing approximately 130 teachers in the northern Jordan Valley, as well as 150 students in the central and southern regions, from crossing the Hamra military checkpoint. This checkpoint serves as a crucial passageway connecting the West Bank governorates with the Palestinian Jordan Valley.
The Hamra checkpoint has been a site of military reinforcement and has experienced frequent closures to public transportation over the past two years. This situation is further exacerbated by the limited access through the Tayasir checkpoint, located east of Tubas, which faces increased security restrictions and is closed for most of the day. Many residents rely on these checkpoints to access their workplaces.
