Post: Israeli Forces Besiege House in Northern West Bank Village

Jenin: Israeli occupation forces Tuesday evening besieged a house in Tiinnik village, west of the occupied West Bank city of Jenin, according to eyewitnesses. They reported that the troops surrounded the house and ordered those inside to surrender using loudspeakers, as explosions were heard in the village.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, this incident occurred amidst a massive raid launched by the occupation forces on Jenin city and its refugee camp, resulting in nine fatalities and 40 casualties. The agency highlighted that Israeli forces routinely conduct raids on Palestinian homes across the West Bank, claiming to search for "wanted" Palestinians, which often leads to clashes with the residents.

These raids occur almost daily, even in areas under the full control of the Palestinian Authority, and are carried out without search warrants, reflecting the military's extensive powers. Under Israeli military law, army commanders hold comprehensive authority-executive, legislative, and judicial-over the 3 million Palestinians residing in the West Bank, leaving the Palestinian population with no input on how this authority is exercised.
