Hebron: Israeli occupation forces Thursday assaulted a Palestinian human rights activist in the southern occupied West Bank city of Hebron, according to the activist herself. Areej Jabari reported that she was hit with rifle butts in her back by Israeli forces while documenting an attack on several youths at a checkpoint in the H2 area, resulting in bruises.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, Jabari was rushed to a nearby hospital by Palestinian Red Crescent Society medics following the assault. WAFA correspondent highlighted that this attack is part of a broader strategy by occupation authorities to prevent the documentation of their forces' actions against Palestinians in sealed-off areas of Hebron.
The H2 area, where the incident occurred, is heavily fortified with checkpoints and guard posts, housing 39,000 Palestinians and approximately 900 Israeli colonists known for aggressive behavior in the West Bank. Occupation forces have isolated the 11 Palestinian neighborhoods in H2 for over five months, affecting about 750 families by restricting access with cages, checkpoints, concrete blast walls, and razor wire.
