Jenin: Israeli occupation forces and colonists on Wednesday forcibly ousted Palestinian families from their homes in Khirbet Asaeed of the Ya'bad town, southwest of Jenin, according to a local source. The incident has left the affected families homeless, with no shelter or immediate recourse.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency, Suhaila Obeid reported that colonists stormed the homes in the hamlet and assaulted the inhabitants. Subsequently, armed soldiers broke into the residences and forcibly removed four families from their dwellings. Obeid highlighted that the soldiers informed the families they would not be permitted to return to their homes.
The situation has prompted calls for urgent intervention from international and official institutions to enable the families to return to their homes. There is a particular concern for several displaced children who suffer from medical conditions and now face additional challenges due to their displacement.
Khirbet Asaeed is situated near the Israeli colony of Mevo Dotan, which is established on lands belonging to Ya'bad. The four families have resided in the hamlet for over 70 years and have previously endured repeated attacks and harassment by Israeli occupation forces. These actions are part of ongoing efforts to intimidate and displace them from their ancestral lands.
