Israeli Colonists Launch Assault on Turmusayya Outskirts Near Ramallah

RAMALLAH: Israeli colonists on Tuesday evening attacked the outskirts of Turmusayya town, northeast of the occupied West Bank city of Ramallah, according to security sources. Armed colonists, protected by occupation forces, assaulted the al-Qurneh area on the town's outskirts and fired live ammunition at young men present there. Fortunately, no injuries were reported as a result of the attack.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, violence perpetrated by colonists against Palestinians and their property is a common occurrence in the West Bank. Such incidents often include property and mosque arsons, stone-throwing, the uprooting of crops and olive trees, and attacks on vulnerable homes, among others. Prosecutions for these acts of violence by Israeli authorities remain infrequent.

There are approximately 1 million Israeli colonists residing in colonies throughout the West Bank and East Jerusalem, an action that is in violation of international law. The ongoing situation has escalated tensions in the region, highlighting the persistent challenges faced by Palestinians living under occupation.
