Israeli Colonists Ignite Agricultural Land Near Ramallah

Ramallah: Israeli colonists on Friday set fire to Palestinian-owned agricultural land in the Sinjil town, located north of the occupied West Bank city of Ramallah, as reported by local activists. The incident involved the torching of a significant area of olive groves in the Ras Ad-Deir region, north of the town.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency, acts of violence by colonists against Palestinians and their property are a common occurrence in the West Bank. Such acts, including property and mosque arsons, stone-throwing, uprooting of crops and olive trees, and attacks on vulnerable homes, often go unpunished by Israeli authorities.

Data from the Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission reveals that in April alone, colonists committed 231 acts of vandalism and theft of Palestinian property in the West Bank. These actions affected large areas of land and resulted in the uprooting of 1,168 olive trees.

Approximately 1 million Israeli colonists reside in colonies in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, a situation that violates international law.
