Ramallah: Colonists have set up a new colonial outpost on lands in the town of Atara, northwest of Ramallah. Local sources reported that on Monday, dozens of colonists, accompanied by a bulldozer, stormed the "Jabal al-Khirba" area at the entrance to the town.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the colonists began paving a dirt road in the area and erecting tents. The Jabal al-Khirba area, spanning 2,000 dunams, is recognized as an archaeological site and has been frequented by settlers as part of a colonial settlement policy. This policy is reportedly aimed at displacing the Palestinian population and poses a threat to security and stability.
