Post: Israeli Colonists Block Palestinian Olive Harvest Near Jenin

Jenin:Israeli colonists on Saturday obstructed Palestinian farmers from harvesting olives near Anin village, west of Jenin, close to a newly established colonial outpost.

According to Palestine news & Information Agency – WAFA – English, local sources reported that Israeli occupation forces seized an agricultural tractor and quantities of harvested olives. Several Palestinians were briefly detained while picking olives on their own lands near Arraba, south of Jenin.

These incidents are part of a broader escalation of attacks by Israeli colonists and occupation forces against Palestinian farmers during this year's olive harvest season. Palestinian farmers have faced physical assaults, theft of crops and equipment, and restrictions on access to their agricultural lands.

The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) noted that 377 olive-harvest-related colonist attacks occurred across the occupied West Bank between September 1 and November 2, 2026. This number has already surpassed previous records for any olive harvest season.

OCHA's November 5 humanitarian update highlighted that 44 of the 49 Palestinian injuries linked to colonist attacks during the reporting period were associated with the olive harvest. Palestinian farmers have also continued to experience theft of harvested olives and agricultural equipment, as well as physical assaults and restrictions on access to their fields.
