Post: Israeli Colonists Attack Olive Harvesters in Qalqilya, Injure One

Qalqilya:Israeli colonists attacked olive harvesters near Immatin village, east of Qalqilya, on Wednesday evening, resulting in the injury of one individual. The incident occurred in the Al-Bawatin area, where farmers were picking olives when they were assaulted with stones by the colonists.

According to Palestine news & Information Agency – WAFA – English, a young farmer was hit in the head by one of the stones, sustaining minor injuries. The attack on the harvesters is part of a broader pattern of violence by colonists against Palestinians in the West Bank.

In a separate incident, colonists also infiltrated western Awarta town, south of Nablus, where they fired live ammunition at a residential home. Fortunately, no injuries were reported from this attack. The violence by colonists, which includes property damage and attacks on homes, is a routine occurrence in the region and is seldom prosecuted by Israeli authorities. Approximately 1 million Israeli colonists reside in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, a situation considered to be in violation of international law.
