Ad-Dhahiriya: Israeli colonists Sunday evening assaulted Palestinians and torched a barn to the south of Ad-Dhahiriya city, southwest of the southern occupied West Bank city of Hebron, according to a resident. Tamer Abu Sharkh reported that a group of colonists descended upon their dwellings in Khirbet Umm as-Simsim and attacked his family members.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the assailants also set a livestock barn ablaze and attempted to harm sheep before retreating from the area. Incidents of colonists' violence against Palestinians and their property are frequent in the West Bank and are seldom prosecuted by Israeli authorities.
Such acts of violence include property and mosque arsons, stone-throwing, uprooting of crops and olive trees, and attacks on vulnerable homes. There are approximately 1 million Israeli colonists residing in colonies in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, which is considered a violation of international law.
