Khirbet samra: Israeli colonists on Wednesday sabotaged Palestinian farmers' crops in Khirbet Samra in the northern Jordan Valley, according to local sources. They reported that colonists set their cows to graze on Palestinian farmers' wheat and barley crops in the community, leading to their destruction.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, Khirbet Samra has increasingly become a target of Israeli colonist attacks, which have escalated since the beginning of February. Colonists have erected a tent near the community dwellings and have been using it as a base for launching attacks against the community.
Violence by colonists against Palestinians and their property is reportedly routine in the West Bank and is seldom prosecuted by Israeli authorities. Such violence includes property and mosque arsons, stone-throwing, uprooting of crops and olive trees, attacks on vulnerable homes, and chasing farmers and shepherds. These acts are considered part of ongoing efforts by colonists, supported by Israeli authorities, to forcibly displace Palestinians as part of a larger ethnic cleansing agenda in the West Bank.
Currently, approximately 1 million Israeli colonists reside in colonies in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, which is in violation of international law.
