Post: Israeli Colonist Takes Over Palestinian Home Near Jericho

Jericho: An Israeli colonist seized a Palestinian home on Sunday in the Shallal Al-Auja community, located north of Jericho in the eastern occupied West Bank, in a provocative move that sparked fear and anxiety among local residents. Hassan Mleihat, General Coordinator of the Al-Baidar Organization for the Defense of Bedouin Communities, reported that the colonist broke into the house and remained inside, as part of a systematic campaign to assert control and dominance over Palestinian communities in the region.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, Mleihat warned that this incident is not isolated but reflects a broader strategy aimed at expanding Israeli influence over vulnerable communities, particularly in the Jordan Valley. He emphasized the potential dangers such actions pose to the safety and well-being of the residents.

He also reported that colonist groups have continued their hostile behavior in the area, roaming through the community in a threatening manner and shouting provocative, racist slogans. These actions have become a daily occurrence, provoking tensions and severely impacting the daily lives and sense of security of Palestinian families.

The Al-Auja area, like many parts of the Jordan Valley, has seen a sharp increase in settler harassment and land seizure attempts, amid broader Israeli efforts to displace Palestinian communities and expand colonial control in the occupied West Bank.
