Israeli Colonist Closes Yasuf Village Entrance, Intensifying Salfit Commute Woes

Salfit: An Israeli colonist, under the protection of Israeli occupation forces, closed the entrance to the village of Yasuf, located east of Salfit, on Tuesday morning. Local sources reported that the colonist obstructed the entrance by placing large rocks on the road, effectively blocking access.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, this entrance serves as a primary route to the city of Salfit, highlighting the ongoing closure of the northern city entrance and the gate of Bruqin town, which aggravates residents' daily travel challenges.

The Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission released a report indicating that recent colonist activities have significantly impacted villages within the Salfit Governorate, with Bruqin and Kafr ad-Dik being notably affected. The report detailed that settler incidents were prevalent in the governorates of Nablus, Ramallah, and Hebron, with 91, 89, and 72 attacks respectively.

Additionally, the commission noted that colonists committed 356 acts of vandalism and theft targeting Palestinian properties across Hebron, Ramallah, Salfit, Tulkarm, and Nablus. In a separate incident, Israeli colonists unleashed livestock among the tents of residents in Al-Farisiya, in the northern Jordan Valley. Local sources reported that armed colonists allowed their animals to graze amidst the tents of local resident Shamekh Daraghmeh, causing alarm among his children.

Al-Farisiya continues to experience daily assaults by colonists on its residents and their properties, further intensifying the region's tension.
