Ramallah: An Israeli colonist attacked dozens of children while they were training at a sports field in the village of Shuqba, west of Ramallah, on Thursday evening.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency, Khaled Mutawa, the media officer at the village council, reported that a colonist from a nearby settlement, built on village land, stormed the playground. The colonist attacked the children with stones and sticks while they were participating in a training session organized by a local sports academy.
Mutawa further explained that the colonist pursued the children using his vehicle, and during the chaos, coach Youssef Al-Nasri was directly hit by a stone and sustained injuries. The attack took place under the protection of Israeli occupation soldiers, who were present at the scene.
Residents of the village rushed to the site to aid and protect the children. In response, the soldiers fired large amounts of tear gas canisters at the local residents who had gathered to provide assistance.
