Gaza: Israel's Security Cabinet has approved the establishment of a new settlement near the settlement of Sanur, south of Jenin, according to Hebrew media reports.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the decision was proposed by Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich and Defense Minister Yisrael Katz. This approval increases the total number of authorized settlements to 103, following the approval of 34 new settlements across the occupied West Bank and the Jordan Valley in March.
Smotrich had previously announced the allocation of 1.3 billion shekels ($434 million) for this settlement project. He described the approval as historic and claimed that the decision aims to strengthen Israeli control over the West Bank.
