Israeli Bombing Kills Five, Injures Others in Deir al-Balah

Jerusalem: Israeli bombing on Friday afternoon killed at least five civilians and injured others east of Deir al-Balah in the central Gaza Strip, according to WAFA correspondent.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, medical sources in Al-Aqsa Hospital reported that five civilians were killed and dozens were injured in the Israeli bombing east of the city. The attack follows Israel's unilateral termination of a ceasefire agreement with Gaza, leading to a resurgence of violence in the region.

Israel resumed its offensive on Tuesday, March 18, conducting a wave of airstrikes across the Strip that have resulted in significant casualties. Medical sources indicate that the death toll has reached at least 9,752, with 40,004 others wounded. In the past 24 hours alone, Gaza hospitals have admitted the bodies of 100 Palestinians, including two retrieved from the rubble, along with 603 casualties.

Since the beginning of Israel's military actions in October 2023, 61,258 Palestinians have been killed, and 152,045 others have been injured. The conflict has left at least 10,000 individuals unaccounted for, believed to be trapped under the rubble of destroyed homes.

The ongoing aggression has led to the displacement of nearly two million people from the Gaza Strip. Most of the displaced population has been forced into the southern city of Rafah near the Egyptian border, marking Palestine's largest mass exodus since the 1948 Nakba.
