Israeli Bombing in Southern Gaza Strip Results in Civilian Casualties

Gaza city: Israeli bombing on Tuesday evening killed three civilians and injured others in the al-Mawasi area, west of Khan Younes in the southern Gaza Strip. The incident highlights the continuing violence in the region.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the attack targeted a tent sheltering displaced people, leading to the deaths and injuries reported. This comes in the wake of Israel's decision to end the Gaza ceasefire agreement unilaterally and resume its aggressive actions on Tuesday, March 18. The renewed hostilities have resulted in a series of airstrikes across the Strip, with hundreds of Palestinians losing their lives.

The ongoing conflict has led to a significant death toll, with at least 7,013 individuals killed and 24,838 others wounded, based on information from medical sources. In the past 24 hours alone, Gaza hospitals have received the bodies of 52 Palestinians, including three recovered from debris, and 262 others with injuries.

Since October 2023, Israel's military operations in the Gaza Strip have resulted in the deaths of 57,575 Palestinians, predominantly women and children, and injuries to 136,879 others. Additionally, there are over 10,000 people missing, believed to be trapped under the remains of their homes.

The conflict has also led to the displacement of nearly two million people, with most being forced into Rafah, a densely populated southern city near the Egyptian border. This displacement marks the largest mass exodus in Palestine since the 1948 Nakba.
