Israeli Authorities Maintain Closure of Al-Aqsa Mosque for Eighth Consecutive Day

Jerusalem: Israeli occupation authorities have continued the closure of the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound for the eighth consecutive day. The closure began last Saturday morning when Israeli forces shut the compound, forcing worshippers to leave and preventing the performance of the Isha and Taraweeh prayers. This action was part of a wider closure imposed on the West Bank, following a major attack launched by Israel and the United States against Iran.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, this marks the third consecutive week that worshippers have been barred from performing Friday prayers at the mosque. Historically, Israeli authorities have rarely imposed a full closure of Al-Aqsa on Fridays by official decision, having done so only five times since the occupation of Jerusalem in 1967.
