Jerusalem: Israeli occupation authorities on Thursday handed several Palestinians from Jerusalem new orders banning them from entering Al-Aqsa Mosque.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the one-week bans, which are renewable for several months, were issued to three former detainees from the neighborhood of Al-Issawiya: Adham Nasser Sabta, Qusai Ahmed Dari, and Mohammad Musa Mustafa.
The orders also targeted Jerusalem's Sharia judge Iyad Al-Abbasi, along with two young men, Jamil Al-Abbasi and Nihad Al-Abbasi. The center noted that recent summonses and arrests of Palestinian residents have mostly ended with such bans, describing the measures as part of a systematic policy aimed at emptying the mosque of its visitors, guards, and staff, particularly ahead of the month of Ramadan.
It added that recent days have seen a significant escalation in the targeting of Islamic Waqf employees in Jerusalem, former detainees, and local activists, in an effort to weaken the Palestinian presence within the holy site.
